Interaction

I have found myself interacting with all sorts of media the last few days. Things like "you tell em Ben"(referring to Ben Harper and his emotional lyrics) and "that Iceland is a beautiful place" (upon viewing the new Sigur Ros film set in their native Iceland). I think I have always interacted with media, though rarely it is out loud and generally contained within my own skull. I do really enjoy interaction in general as it allows a sense of connection to the piece being played or viewed or experienced. Interesting though, I rarely interact with a computer screen other then to curse a slow programs existence and wonder how I ever get anything done on sometimes slow and infernal machines. I interact the greatest when the emotion meets me where I am, allows me to feel deeply, and brings me great satisfaction in what I was listening to or seeing. Sometimes I love seeing how other people respond. For example, in the Sigur Ros film there is a scene where a marching band emerges from the rear of where Sigur Ros is playing with an accompanying tune. The audience goes wild even though the song is still playing and the band still retains their place on stage. The audience reacts to the sudden beauty and artistic merit before them. Upon seeing this, my heart lept with joy and I felt quite cozy inside, like they were appreciating the work as I would have, had I been there. I then commented to my roommate, who purchased said film for Christmas for me, "Wow, I love it when audiences react to new and exciting things happening on stage". It was a grand moment, let me tell you. And with that I am off to the port of air to pick up good friend Simon.
