Yesterday was St. Crispin's Day , so a belated Happy St. Crispin's Day . Thats not the only thing that I celebrated that was exciting this weekend either. On friday night I went over to the highly acclaimed Paul Spilsburys house for dinner. I have Christianity in the 2nd Century with him and since there are only 5 of us in his class he wanted to have us over for dinner. It was a magical evening. We chatted, shared dreams and goals, and in general gained a large amount of respect for DR. Not that I did not have respect for him in the past, but seeing him in his home brought a level of humanness to him which adds to the respect factor. I met his wife and kids, had a wonderful dinner prepared by his wonderful wife, and watched as he kissed his kids goodnight. It will be a night I will remember for a long time. It was interesting to find out what type of fiction Spilsbury reads. It is evident in class what type of biblical texts he reads, but to know that Spilsbury like William Goldeing and Chaim Potok was something else. To talk about something that I have read and understand was great, not that I said a whole lot the whole evening, I was in a large amout of awe, but it was fun to add my two cents worth. I never knew that a prof could be so goofy, well thats not true, Tim Moore has a goofy side, but Paul Spilsbury goofing around was something else. I guess I figured that since most of the profs have their PhD, that they had lost some part of the fun in their lives, evidently not, Spilsbury was funny and told us storys of things he had done while at Bible College and what he was like as a kid. To get such a glimpse into the life of someone who frightened me my freshman year was fantastik. After that night was over I was spent. I went to bed to get some shut eye, but as I was getting ready to go to bed, Mike Schalin called and wanted to know if I wanted to watch Braveheart starring Mel Gibson. I of course agreed and I was up into the early hours of the morning. Then Saturday and A pumpkin carving party at the Previously mentioned Mike Scahalins house. It was quality times and much pumpkin was carved. This leads us to today and church and then "The Olive Garden" where my beloved roommate took me out to lunch, it was great food and I am still full from lunch right now at dinner time. Tonight I go to this worship night thing called Beggars Feast, dont ask why its called that, I dont know if anyone knows. So I bid adeu to you and you and you.

This place called Zeffereli's Pasta Joint has some of the greatest pasta I have ever tasted. I spent yesterday afternoon chillin with Mike S at his place of work, The House - A coffe sanctuary. After which we decided that it was time we went out for dinner, and we both had been jonesin for some good pasta, so we tried this place out. It was highly quality I must say. We found it unromantic at first, as we were looking for a good place to bring a girl, should one happen to come into our respective lives in the near future. After a while they turned the lights down and we deduced that it would be quality for a outing of the date variety. After a great meal we headed back to my abode, and proceeded to chill for quite some time. And with the end of that wonderful story, I must impart some horrific news, well not horrific, but kinda sadining. Do not for one moment think that I have lots a finger, or toe, but simply that I will not be able to attend the VNV Nation DVD release party tomorrow night. I was kinda choked since I had been looking forward to this for quite some times, but as it turns out there is a practice for my worship band tomorrow night as well, and I cant really do both now can I. So with this new development I am sadened. But on the bright side I just made myself pancakes for dinner. They were great and I am full and feeling great. The weather was nice today, and by nice I mean no frost and no need to wear a toque or mittens, which is nice, and I may have even felt a little sweat on my back. But that is beside the point, the point as I see it is that the leaves are falling and the air is kinda still luke warm, which is nice cause it gets cooler at night and that feels nice to sleep with. speaking of sleep I am gonna work on Youth Conference stuff. Peace.

Seeing as I had only gone to the Calgary Zoo when I was less then 12 years old I was not acustomed to the layout today and found myself at an interesting point, lost in the zoo. I went to the zoo today with Connie and another member of my sister floor, whom I forget the name of. Despite my lostness, which was due to the new exibits which I did not know existed, I really had a great time viewing the animals and seeing all of the dinosaurs. I was super stoked to see the polar bears and the other north pole animals, but to my dismay the exhibt that I was also stoked to see, "Destination Africa", had taken the place of this wonderful polar animal. But the trip was not totally bunk, cause the Africa exhibt was sweet and cool. But we must not forget the Gardens, which are my favorite part of the Zoo, and I always think of my dad when I walk through them. It was a great day and now I am super tired, seeing as I am going to chruch tomorrow, I am going to bed soon, in order that I might get some sleep. I think I might walk the path to Eau Claire Market and see whats cooking at that end of town. Send me letters and stuff, and by stuff I mean love. Peace friends, and Happy Anniversery Mom and Dad.

I love Peters Drive In. Troy, my beloved roommate and I went to buy some food of the Grocery variety. And on the way home we decided that it was time to make good on promise we made ourselves to go to Pete's Drive In for dinner. We got the obligatory cheese burgers, fries, and Milkshakes. It was a glorious meal full of grease and lactose. Presently I am feeling quite nauseaous and ready to blow chunks. This great feeling is the only feeling that I wish to feel after having Petes. If I felt good and ready to go after eating Pete's I would have to wonder If I was actually getting my money's worth. And now I am sitting here feeling like a piece of rotten tofu, and thats it. Hurrah.

So a whole week has passed under the bridge, but there wasent a whole lot happening, and I was super swamped with homework. But let me take you on a journey that was last week.

Monday:
Awoke and went to class, at noon, and then read "After the Apostles"(ata) till bed time (Midnight).

Tuesday:
Awoke, had breakfast, went to class at 1:00. Watched some construction, it calms me to watch others building the basement of a building, and then I came home and read ATA, worked on a presentation for Shakespeare till late at night, late being 1 or 2 in the morning. Then I went to bed, was super nervous about the presentation.

Wednesday:
Awoke with cold palms and a turning stomach. The presentation went well, it was a lot easier after it got going. With this disturbing thing out of the way I was able to finally settle down and do some reading, sadly the reading was due the next day and I had so much reading to do, about 120 pages or so, and I had to write a paper about it too.

Thursday-Friday:
Needless to say I was up until 6:30 in the morning finishing this shindig. I got up at 9:30 for chapel and then came back and started reading a book for the next day. Class was cool, and then I rushed home, stopping for a moment to gaze at the construction, then I hit the books. The night never ended for me. I was up all night and watched the sun rise with a written paper on my computer. It wasent worth it to head off too bed for a few hours when I could have fun by myself sitting on the balcony drinking tea and looking at the sky, and dozing off every so often. The day passed quickly and when I got home I watched some films and headed off to bed.

Saturday:
Suprizingly I slept only 9 hours and was ready for the day, which was filled with watching films. One of which was called A Problem With Fear. It screened as a gala presentation at the Calgary International Film Festival, but the gala was 40 bucks so this was much cheaper, 33 dollars cheaper to be exact. It was great, interesting plot, interesting cinematography, altogether interesting. I saw this movie with Matt Russell, who shares a similar desire to watch indie films as I do. After the film we dicussed it over tea. And then I went to bed.

Sunday:
The Devonion Gardens are a beautiful place. Matt Russell and I went to observe the Gardens and they were not dissapointing. After which I watched more films until it was time to go to Mike Schalins house for dinner. We, Chemo, Mel Doyle, and I headed there for some food and fellowship. The food was outstanding, cooked by Mike and his sister. It was great to have a homecooked thanksgiving meal. I came home watched more films and then went to bed, and now here we are all caught up. Its snowing outside, it was radingin and now it's colder so the weather decided that it would be fitting to snow. Anyways I want some breakfast, and I am sure your tired of hearing about my life. Anyways, peace.

What a weekend this has been. With all the excitment I went to bed early last night, early being 11:30. So back to the weekend. The last time I wrote I had just finished reading for history, and then I got some sleep, and then I went to class. Class was alright, we talked about Vikings, it was pretty cool. Then in "The Bard Gong Show", aka Shakespeare, I got to finish watching the 1996 production of Romeo + Juilet, starring none other than Jack from Titanic Himself Leonardo DiCrapreo. Well I dont know if he so much deserves that name as much as Claire Danes does. Its just so awkward to see a good looking girl force Old English out of her mouth when she really wants to speak using new english language. Anyways enough about the movie. Directly after the "Bard Gong Show" I went down to check my mailbox, and found it empty, sadly that simple fact runied the next five minutes of my life. After I felt sad for a couple moments I was relived to see some people that I knew. I walked over to them and they convinced me to come to the Stampeders Game with them. I was like, "but it costs 15 bucks". Then my good friend, Ian Elford reminded me that dinner was included with the ticket price and thus I went to the Game. We had some great meat before the game, which we gobbled down so that we could make it before the kickoff. Now CBC had a section where all the students would sit, but myself, Ian Elford, Randy Gay, and Josh Hilton decided that we wanted to sit closer to the action. This is a risky move since we did not know if people were going to be sitting in those seats or not. We decided to take the risk and sit there. It turned out to be a good move, but sadly we had to move a couple times in order to make room for those who had actually paid money for those seats. The game was quality and the Stamps won so the crowd was happy. But not only did the Stamps win, but they scored over 30 points which meant that every one in the crowd got a free pizza from East Side Mario's. We decided that since we had nothing else to do that night that the four of us would head over to the nearest ESM and get some free pizza. It took a little while to get to the restraunt and once inside we were instructed to sit at the bar and wait for our pizza which should be not too long. We waited for 1.5 hours! It was a monstrosity sitting at the bar doing nothing but watching the highlights of the game we were just at. Oh and for the record, there was a tustle between the players and one of the Stamps ripped the helmet off of the Ti-Cats and threw to away only to have that helmet hit one of the ref right in the middle of the face. It was quite the re-play to see that a couple of times over and over again. So after getting our pizza from ESM we headed back to the the Dorms and to bed since I was super tired and My roommate was off being a nerd (he was quiz coaching). Now saturday did not get interesting until about 6:30pm, when Matt Russell invited me over for dinner, now no one here says no to free dinners due to the fact that free food is always a great and beautifal thing. After said dinner of Fajitas, Matt Russell, Mellissa Doyle, Connie Neumiller, and I went to a Calgary Film Festival screening of the film "19 Months". This film, mockumentry, is about the expirey date of love. This couple seemed to think that their love would only last for the duration of 19 months, hence the title. They had invited a documentry team along to document the last months of the relationship as well as to see how they were going to get on into the next stage of their lives. It was an interesting film, going against most ideals that we, the 4 bible college students, have. Thus prompting some great coffee table discussion. It was a great night, one for the memory books. Sunday was fairly mundane, but the morning was brightened with breakfast with Mike Schalin. We went to this little joint called Taba Cafe, or something like that. It was great to have a breakfast of eggs and such, not that I cant eat the same at home, but it was fun to eat at the counter, which I have seen in lots of movies, but have never experienced. It was quality, and yes I skipped church. Then there was Missions Meeting last night and it was alright, then I came home and went to bed early to get up and do homework, I did some reading and then was called by some unseen force to update this little shindig, and there you have it. I monstrosity of a update and hurrah, Its almost time for class. Have a great day friends. Peace.

Clearly its early in the morning, my eyes are tired and I have a buring desire to sleep. But what would this day be without a post. I finished my reading for tomorrow, which is now today, and that makes me happy. The fact that I finished it at 2:15 AM does not make me happy. I got a little sidetracked today and neglected to remember yesterday when I was planning out today, or yesterday (depending on your point of view). Basically I forgot that there was a coffee house put on by Student Council, so I went to that and had a great time. Previous to the coffeehouse I had made a trek with my good friend and beloved roommate Troy Dunham, (Beloved is also a song by VNV Nation). We made this trek down to 17th Ave, which I dubbed Mini Kens since it looks like a less clean Kensington, to find a little box office for the Calgary International Film Festival. We found this box office in short order and we went inside to buy some tickets for and upcomming screening. To my dismay the movie that I had planned on going to, called Hukkle, was not playing for an unknown reason. This disturbed me greatly, but I had a backup plan so I went ahead and bought tickets for 19 months, a romanic comedy/ mockumentry, about the experation day of a relationship. It looks like it will be a winner. Well the time is now later than when I started writing and if I want to get a decent sleep, and by decent I mean more than 5, I will have to make like a zygote and split. Oh and Jim Kedge made my day today by signing my guestbook. Thanks bud.
