Sandwich Dedicated to Joey

Yesterday I made a sandwich which I think Joey from the TV sit-com Friends would have been proud of. It had 3 kinds of meat, chedder and mozzarella cheese, tomato, lettuce, mayo, mustard, Christmas relish (made by my mother), and 12 grain bread. It was this colossal sandy which I ate while watching Friends thus dedicating my monster lunch of goodness and essential nutrients to the famed Joey. In other news, the weather has been great, and I look forward to perhaps some rain to water this parched city. Also good friend Roussell is almost back in Canada. Also I look forward to journeying back to Kamloops in a few weeks for the wedding of Matt Feeney to Stephanie Nicholson. I think it will be like a mini reunion since a great deal of people who might be comming are from High School. Should be solid. As should the VNV Nation show that Josh and I are going to this eve.

Blue Like the Sky

I finished reading Blue Like Jazz by the acclaimed Donald Miller. It is an excellent read, one that might challange your way of thinking about spirituality, and might ruffle some feathers, but I think that the journey is well worth the read. It feels good to read at my own pace, and for nothing other then self improvement, not that reading during the semester was not improving self, cause it was, but the fact that I am reading without a test or reading report helps me to derive calmness from the reading process. Calmness is something that I am attempting to achieve, the stress from the semester is slowly melting away and I am able to sleep better, and sit for longer periods of time without feeling as though I should be doing something. I also now have 2 jobs, one at a retail store, and the other at a multi-national corporation. I like the retail job, it allows me to learn much about the product that I am selling, and that makes me happy. The people there are also great so the work is quite excellent. At this moment I am listening to the new Oasis single, which is called Lyla. I have been listening to the full album for a few days, and await its release. I quite enjoy the entire album. Speaking of things British, I saw The Queen yesterday. She is in Alberta to help celebrate the cenntenial birthday of the Province. So a few friends and I went down to the designated viewing spot and watched the motorcade. It was a brief 3 second glance, but I did see The Queen so that was cool. So much waiting for such a brief moment, but thats alright, it was an interesting experience. I plan on having some chicken wings for a snack and then making a sandwich for my mid afternoon lunch seeing as I have work at 4-11:15. Anyways thats about it for now.

May 10th, Chance of Snow

Today I awoke to cloudy skies and a warmness in my heart. I had a shower came back into my room to sit down and have my morning meal and my daily dose of Friends. I looked out to South Calgary and thought that it seemed even more cloudy then when I had left to take my shower. I looked a little closer and the clouds were swirling and then I realized that they were not real clouds, but that it was snow falling to the earth, like some long overdue April fools joke. It is May 10th, and usually around this time the sun is out warming the earth, and causing plants to grow. But today the snow falls and wets the earth with its precipitation. I find it kind of odd that it is snowing, but at the same time I half expect it from the glorious city of Calgary. In other news, I have been working for a while at a fairly unconventional job, well unconventional for me. I really enjoy it, the people are great and I am learning a great deal about the product that I am selling, so its a win win situation. I also go for an interview today at a major corporation, which would be nice since I have to pay rent for next month. As a side note, I have decided not to mention the exact names of my places of employment due to some of the litigation going around regarding bloggers and their places of employment. If you want to know more about where I work then e-mail me. For now I will continue to look for work and work at my job, and enjoy life.
