Oh man am I all burned out or what. And by that sentence I mean that my mind is tired and it feels like there is a fog upon my brain. Currently I'm sitting at home resting my noggen so that tomorrow I can use it again to write 8 pages for a paper on which I have very little information with which to write. Its a sad life when you try and do research and there is nothing for you to research from. And then I had some Mac and Cheese with some sausage in it for dinner, and now my stomach is all grumbly and stuff. And did I mention that my brain is foggy? Really its been a tough day today, and I will head to bed soon in an effort to gain sleep. After I listen to the news, hurrah for news.

After the trip to the library and a few hours of combing the index of books in order to find some info for my paper I finally found about 5 books which should prove to be useful in crafting a paper. Then I sat around and chilled all weekend. However on saturday I made pancakes for dinner, and since I had been watching a lot of Iron Chef (the greatest show in the history of mankind) I decided to liven up these tastey treats. I employed the use of a gingerbread man cookie cutter and I placed that in a pan and poured the batter into the mold. The first time it did not work as I had planned and the head and an arm fell off, so I greased the mold and proceeded to try again. This time it worked much better and I had a man shaped pancake. How enjoyable. Troy and I ate these men and it was somewhat disturbing to be eating the head off of a pancake. But they tasted alright so that was keen. Yesterday, Sunday, I baked brownies in the afternoon so that when I went to Becky's palace for dinner I would have something to contribute. Matt, Connie, and I went over to Becky's place of residence and made some dinner and watched a film. Now this dinner thing was espically good since we went out and bought the food right then and then cooked it right up. I felt like I was living in a European country where you can walk down the street and pick up your grocerys for the day. The food was so so so good, it filled my stomach and warmed my heart, and I got to eat it with 3 of my dear friends, it does not get much better than that. I have class today, it should be keen, we are discussing the previous mentioned YC.

In trying to find books for an upcomming research paper I have travelled to the school building located on 4th Ave. SW. I went directly to my mail box in hopes of finding something amazing like a new computer, but instead I found something fairly outstanding. Stuffed inside my mailbox was a song list of about 50 songs which Jon Morrison, the leader of the tour group, had shoved in there. By the way I'm going on tour with a band for 3 weeks during the summer. Which I mentioned in the previous entry. So after I got the songs I went into the student leaders room, since I'm a student leader, and tried to find books on the computer by searching the library's resourses remotly from another computer, it proved futile and now I will have to make the trek up a flight of stairs to the actual library.

So YC finished yesterday and today was a day of rest. I watched a film, read a book, and sat around. I therefore have no energy with which to write something so I will cut and paste and format a survey that I spent a great deal of today on. I'm going on tour in the spring with a worship band, so this is a survey that we all filled out to get to know each other better.
Enjoy.

My favourite food is La-zahn-ya and Cee-zer Salad. My favourite genre of food is Italian, and I love going for pasta on almost any occasion. Pasta is the only thing that has kept me alive this semester
Favourite CD The very first non Christian album that I owned was Oasis – What’s the Story Morning Glory, and besides not having a sense of music when I was younger, I still hold this album as my dearest.
TV show I can't miss while touring I will not miss anything, well maybe the National with stud Peter Mansbridge. Since my family has never had a TV I never really got to watching shows, although since acquiring the internet I have been downloading shows, my favourite being Iron Chef.
Favourite ethnic cuisine Thai.
Least favourite food Seafood. I believe it comes from growing up in a landlocked province and not having a viable source of sea items to eat, or it could have to do with the fact that my parents dislike eating sea creatures and only served us kids the fish which as been battered and then fried and then eaten with loads of ketchup and tartar sauce.
Favourite Day of the week Saturday – for those of you who remember the Caf in Regina there was something about the greasy food that just brought people together. I really love breakfast.
Last paper I have written Willy Brandt and Ostpolitik for “History of the Cold War
Favourite instrument to listen to piano, strings and brass in rock music. It is a medley of the best of both worlds. One of the greatest songs with this phenomenon displayed is the Verve’s (not to be confused with the Verve Pipe) “Bittersweet Symphony”,
Favourite sport New Zealand All Blacks Rugby
Movie I can quote every line to I have a horrible Memory, but the closest film to knowing would be “Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure” (Starring Canoe Reeves), or the songs to “Sound of Music”.
Favourite Bible verse Something in 2 Timothy 1:7. God did not give us a sprit of fear, but of power and might.
Most despised song Nickelback, Creed, any of those clone bands that keep popping up like cockroaches all over the place without any explanation.
How religiously do you watch the OC? Seeing as I dislike TV already, I must say that I do not even know what The OC is. From what people have told me it’s a show about people that have conflicts. Doesn’t this show have Jack Black in it? If it doesn’t it should.
Do you get mad when the OC is not on? I get mad when I cannot watch Iron Chef, and the letters “O” and “C” are included in “Ir[o]n [C]hef”, so I must say that I get mad when the “OC” irOn Chef is not on.
The song that reminds me the most of growing up My dad is a huge Keith Green fan so the song which I heard the most of because it is so long was the Prodigal son suite, which is a great song. I always think back to the good ol days when I hear Keith pound those piano keys.
My ideal band name (doesn't have to be churchy) Traffic Light

GOING DEEPER
My weirdest quirk wearing multiple layers of clothing.
Best trait I got from dad I can’t grow decent facial Hair. My dad does have a moustache, and that’s considered facial hair, but the rest of his face is patchy and such. When I did not shave for November of last year the hair on my face was not a nice looking beard, it was bald in some spots and hairy in others. This all means that I can go for days without shaving and it won't be a big deal.
Best trait I got from mom My Blue Eyes
The annoying trait everyone will learn during the first week of tour They say that dairy is good for the body because it gives you calcium, and I agree, but my body disagrees. I wish I could control the outcome of eating dairy, but my digestive system has its own agenda and there for I will consume small amounts of dairy in an effort to limit the result of such an action.
Accomplishment I'm most proud of Selling my First Photograph
But I'm least proud about My work Ethic, or lack there of.
Do you sing in the shower? Oh Yes I do, sometimes without noticing, sometimes simply because I like the sound of my own voice, and other times because the water is too cold
The thing that makes me smile regardless Saying good morning to God and a hug from a dear friend.
5 years from now I want to be A journalist in a different Country, on a different continent, married, and a lighter body.
25 years from now I want to be Working for National Geographic so that I can retire by taking pictures and getting paid to travel the world doing stories on all sorts of things.
I get excited by Food, sunsets, sunrises, girls, music, nice Cameras, Pete Yorn, vests, walks, pretty much everything aside from seafood and arguing Americans
If you could be stranded on an island with one person, besides Jon Morrison, who would it be? This is quite a difficult question. I thought at first for some reason that it would be cool for Ghandi to be there, and then I vetoed that idea. Then Mel Gibson popped into my head, also random, and he could look cool, but that’s it, then I think that it would be nice to have someone who knew how to get me off the island and Tom Hanks got himself of the island in that movie, so why couldn’t he do it again. And plus I would get to meet Tom Hanks. So my brother Josh it is.

I just nearly got crushed by the revolving door today, it was mighty scary. I was walking out of the building which I have classes in to get a slush cause I was thirsty and I needed a break from my paper. So I begin to walk out the door when my vest gets caught on one of the handles and the money that I had in my hand sprayed everywhere. I jumped out of the way of the door and thankfully was still alive, and then I picked up my money, it was most embarassing. So now its back to West Germany and Ostpolitik.

Do you ever have those times when your in an elevator and it's really awkward and such. I had this experience yesterday, it was not my first time, but it just proved the point to myself. So I was waiting for Pizza in the lobby after curfew and the pizza guy came and I got the za. Then a person of the female gender comes strolling in like nothing was wrong, but clearly she was late for curfew. We got on the elevator and went to my floor, which is 3, and she continues on. However, she says goodnight to me as I leave the elevator. This is troubling for a number of reasons, first we had not said a word while riding the elevator, second I dont even know her name. She may have been simply being polite, but it is so awkward when people on the lift offer random phrases and sentences. I'm all for randomness, and awkwardness is keen, but sometimes there is no need for such comments, just say nothing and go on your way, if there is a feeling of need just supress it. Anyways thats it for now. Oh one more thing, I'm currently reading Microserfs, fitting title since the last book I read was about the road to serfdom. Cool eh?

It feels as though the last week has flown by, and really it has, if you consider sitting at a desk and reading flying by. Currently I'm reading F.A. Hayek's book "Road to Serfdom". A tantilizing look at what the world has become with the onset of socialism. Written in 1944, Hayek tends to be dry often offering up a tiny morsel near the end of each chapter, which is dutyfully underline and make note of it so that I can use it in my paper. This is not simply a reading of the book, no, this is a reading and then writing 7 pages on what his main arguments are. This evening should prove to be rather stimulating as I attempt to write all 7 pages for tomorrow. I needed to clear my mind from all this economic garble so I decided to update this little shindig seeing as it has been a week since I last updated. I have been doing so much reading, I actually spent part of a dream reading. I think one of the benifets of reading all this smart stuff is the fact that my dreams are very random. I had a dream about reading, a dream about having a bath in Ben Fold's (a musician) house (without actually meeting Ben Folds. What a crazy couple of nights those were. Anyways I need to start up the reading again. Thanks for reading.

Today is a day of glory. I not only went shopping today and gathered for myself some food, but I recieved a package from none other than the great Ian G. He had informed me of said packages departure from the lower mainland, and I did not expect it for a number of days. It was a great delight to see the pink package slip in my mail box. What was contained in this package you may ask, well I will surely tell you. The first thing that caught my eye was a skull shaped rattle, much like something you would find in a culture that practices voodoo. Next was an assortment of food bought presumibly at a T&T Market somewhere. This food includes two different bags of candy, one says "Super Apple Candy: It's So Wonderful Candy", and the other has markings which I do not understand. I have tasted both of these suger snacks and have come to the following conclusions: 1. Grape Candy from the Orient is still grape candy, 2. Apple Candy from China is the most sourest thing I have ever tasted. The next and last food item is some cookies entitled "Milk: Sand Biscuit". They are rather enjoyable for a "Sand Biscuit". The greatest thing about the "Sand Biscuits" is the english printed on the back of the original package. The use of the verb flower (pretty thing that sits on a table) in substitute for the verb flour (pulverized ground wheat). It was rather amusing for me. The rest of the package includes the following: Mennonite Mayhem Vol. 1&2 (a rare find), Popism's album "Exploding Plastic Inevitable" (also a rare find), Douglas Coupland's "Microserfs", and the DVD "Catman in Lethel Track". As you can plainly see, this package is enough to brighten anyones day, possibly month. It has been a great day so far, and now I must go and read. It seems like all I do is read, eat food, and sleep. Its a great life. And thanks Ian for the wonderful Package.

Much to my suprise this morning the ground was covered with snow. Its March First and there is still snow on the ground. This is mostly annoying due to the fact that I like walks and cannot take long and extended ones with all this white stuff on the ground. Aside from said snow the weather today was rather windy, not to my liking, and it drove shivers into my bones. Now its time for bed in my favorite place, my bed. And since I just ate a grilled cheese sandwich, I think that tonight may be gassey, which makes the sleep interesting to say the least.

On the prompting of friend and confidant Micheal Schalin I will update today. Last night I attended a party dedicated to the viewing of the Oscars program. Suprisingly there were only guys there, suprising because its rare for just men to hang out together, well maybe not rare, but certinally odd. Anyways, the awards were boring as rice. I mean there was the comedy of Billy Crystal and others, but over all it was generally a snooze-fest, not like my stomache last night after eating Kraft Dinner. The suprise, and by suprise winner I mean I wanted her to win, but since things were not going well I did not expect it, winner of the eve was Sofia Coppola. She won for her Original Screenplay "Lost in Translation", which is a great film. Worthy of many more awards, but sadly LOTR was there in force, along with greasy Peter Jackson. If I were going to the Oscars I would do my top button of my shirt up and comb my hair, and shave. This man did none of the above mentioned items. It was quite disturbing to see him in almost every other shot, because LOTR won almost every other award. Peter won best director and best film and others, but really as discribed by aformentioned Micheal Schalin, it was the last in the trilogy so they better had won something or the world would implode. So as you can see, my sunday eve was boring, as was much of my week. I had some fairly decent walks in the last couple of days. Nearly jumped out of my skin while walking near a train track, on a pathway so I was safe. The train came out of the fog and some bells started going off, it was most frightening. I have been reading alternatley between "History of the Cold War" and "Political Ideologies", the Cold War book being of more stimulating material. It snowed today, thank goodness none of it stayed on the ground, it mearly blew away and evaporated into the warmish air. If it had stayed then calgary drivers would have found ways to get into an outrageous amounts of accidents, leading to more body work being done at the car dealership across the street, leading to me not getting enough sleep, leading to me being tired tomorrow, leading me to not listen in class, leading me to fail the final, leading me to become an anarchist, leading me to forget all the ideology that I have read about. So in the end, the snow not only would have caused accidents, but in the end I would have wasted my hard earned money on a class that I would just forget in order to become an anarchist. With that in mind hopefully it does not snow tomorrow, and if it does I will be sure to take a nap.
