Youth Conference is only 21 days away. Just thought I would let you know.

After that massive attack of a post that I posted on monday I thought it best to stay a little while away from writing and such. This week has been alright with work and such. I did reading, framed a picture, and listened to good music. I am still waiting for the pics of the concert and that will be a glorious day when I see then and wish to be back there again. School is awkward seeing as we lost a lot of space with the fire. I now have 3 classes in the Balconey of Simpson Chapel, which is most uncomfortable and the seats are small. I also have a class now in another chapel we have here called Tozer, named after the great man A.W. Tozer, and Simpson chapel named after A.B. Simpson who founded the Alliance denomination. Today at Lunch there was a meeting for the Alliance Party in the Gourmet Bean, a coffee shop which caters to those not eating in the caf, thus shutting down the whole operation. This is also due to the fire and all of the relocation that needs to get done off people who were forced out of their offices by smoke or water damage. We are fairly tight packed into the inside of our school now and its hard for some to adjust while others are having a great adventure. I am one who is having a great adventure. It is humorous to see people in places where you would never expect to see them. On top of it all this sunday we have open dorms, which allows members of the oppisite sex into the dorms to hang out with us, us being males. It hopefully will be top notch and fun for all. Dinner tonight was horrible, some meat stew thing and some pasta thing and then some rice thing. What saved this meal was the toast and cereal. Without those two staples I dont know how I would hold out. Now that I have spilled my beans spill yours to me at duddy_k@hotmail.com . Peace.

Went to Jars of Clay and Cadmones call last night and was totally blown away. The day started with the vehicle that I was supposed to be travelling in not starting and having to borrow another vehicle which turned out not to have heat, but I will get to that later. We departed around 10:30 bound for Minot North Dakota via the North Portal border crossing. We stopped at Subway for lunch and that was nice and warm since the air outside was at an apparently record setting low. We got to the border crossing hopeing to get across with no problems. It so happens that they get like 3 cars a day and had to make sure that we were alright. I dont blame them, its a totally different world after all this crazy terriorist stuff. Anyways we had to go and fill out some forms and then got to have a personal interview with a customs officer. It was all good but the scaryest part for me was when we were sitting after our interview waiting for the rest of the group to be done and we were looking at all the FBI wanted posters. It was scary since you see it in the movies and stuff, but I saw it in real life and that was sketchy. After the border incident we left and went to Minot, found the auditorium, and then went to a mall. It was American so I wanted to look around. I found Old Navy and it was a great store, where I wish I had more money so that I could buy clothes. None the less it was tireing after a day of driving to wander around a mall. We then proceeded back to the auditorium where we got inside and were warmed and then went to the floor and waited for the concert to start. Randall Goodgame opened and he was quite good. For an opening act he put on a heck of a show. Then Cadmonens Call showed up and they were loud and good. Their piano player played a B3 Rock organ and it was a show in itself to watch him play. They put on a great show and then there was an intermission before Jars played. I had learned earlier in the evening that it was an acoustic set, which warmed my heart seeing as I love more acousticy music and to see one of my favorite bands play their stuff acoustic was phenominal. When Jars came on stage they reminded me of a group of vegabonds who had just been travelling through Europe. They had long hair and one had a beard. The lead singer proceeded to tell us that they made of point during this tour to be as lazy as possible. In the spirit of this lazyness they proceeded to get a member of the audience to pick a song from a hat that they had and then they played the song. They played Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and this annoyed me since I came to Hear Jars and not some covers of other songs. But after this thought I was reminded of the fact that Cadmonens Call played the Beatles song, We Can Work It Out. The hat went on almost the entire time, with some of their favorites interjected here and there. There was a rousing redition of a song called Flood accompinied by some fancy lights and smoke. They finished on a high note and left the stage with the crowd wanting them to come back. They came back and played Frail and Worlds Apart. Two of the greatest songs Jars of Clay could have played that night. With our fill of loud music we left and went to McDonalds for some post show food. This turned out to be a good scene. Did you know that the Iced Tea in the States in Unsweetened? I found it rather refreshing, despite what other thought. We started for home and I was in a car with heat until we got to Tim Hortons in Esteven. Oh and we had no trouble at the border. So I switched out of the car with heat into another car for the comfort of both myself and another person who needed warmth more than I. I was cold but the hot chocolate from Tim Hortons was great and it warmed my innards. We drove and drove and drove for what felt like forever and finally we got to Regina and were greated with Cold Cold Cold weather. This trip in the car with no heat will be remembered by the coldness on my face and the sheer freezing of the air comming out of the air vents. Well why dident we stop the air? Simply because there were five humans who need to breathe in the car to stay alive. Within each breath is a little bit of water vapor which settles on the windows and creates Ice. The cold air kept some of this crystalization at bay for the time being. So we got back to Regina and there was much rejoiceing, I never thought I would say that with so much conviction. Ben McNab and I walked the Girls back the their dorm, this is to protect them from the pychos who seem to like hanging around out school all the time. We then ran back to the dorm. Remember that the air is colder than it has been all year and we are running thus creating our own little wind chill. My face still is a little tender from that incidet. And then I had a shower and went to bed. This story is now over. I took pictures but the roll is in the middle so I dont think I will be getting them back for a little while. It was a great day filled with memories and people and coldness and Janna Keller losing her camera at McDonalds in Minot (it was a sorrowful time when I heard that). Anyways I have run out of things to tell you. Remember to sign the Guest Book. Peace.

I am crazy bored with so many things to do and not wanting to do any. Instead I replaced the strings on my bass and did laundry. My how I have acomplished so much today. The school is starting to smell like old fire and that is what I smelt for a good month and a half last summer so it brought back good and bad memorys. Well off to more sitting and reading.

Looking at the what I have dubed "The Wreckage" is somewhat sadining. I walked by it this morning and wanted to go and help the people out inside simply so I could see all the damage. Is that morbid or am I just curious. I think curosity wins on that one. I actually did work this morning and now I will go and continue to read about ancient religions. How fun. Hurrah. On second thought I will not go and read, but simply go and search for my dream camera. Last night Jim and I went out for dinner at the Cathedral Free House. It was great food, but the lighting was horrible since it was so low and our waiter looked like he belonged playing rugby for sweden rather than serving us college students wood fired pizza, but thats his own desicion I guess. Only a few days to Jars of Cadmoens Call. We are leaving early on Sunday to go and do some shopping at high priced American Retailers due to the fact that we have women in the cars. This is a good things since they keep us males company but they can be a burden when it comes to eating and buying things. Oh well I guess I will see what it is like to shop in America, it shall be fun. I Think I want to take a nap. We had chicken burgers for lunch and now I am sleepy. The food is feeling nice and warm in my tummy, also known as Ferdiand, who is nice and happy right about now. Sweet action. Well now thats it. Peace.

So the camera also known as: Kamera, Sara, sweet little thing, is back in my possesion. Thanks to all those who supported me in the drive to get my camera back. Basically Thanks to Terry Stofer, and my Mom and Dad. Its late and I am a tired little college student who needs to do reading all tomorrow. Night sweet friends and family.

If you want to see some pic's from yesterday then go here to see pic's.
Peace

After standing in the cold yesterday and thinking about what was going on, it came to my attention that the roof was on fire. How suitable for a school of this stature. Since I told the story yesterday I will share my feelings and wishes today. I saw the mess in all of its glory today and it is quite the mess. No matter. I found it brilliant the way that fire destroys everything leaving little signs of hope and wonder, like a plant hanging from a lower office roof, under where the fire happened. This was comforting admist the crazy burned rubble formerly known as AD1. We had a briefing this morning in the caf and were suprised to here that a water main had broken and was still flooding the downstairs of the school. Therefore there is 3-4 feet of water in the bookstore and in the student lounge and so on and so forth. This reminds me of last summer and Thompson Valley Restoration. Well I think I will go and take more pictures of this mess. Peace out yo.

So my school started to burn down today. It was at about 1:30 when the fire bell rang and we were kicked outside by the persistant ringing of the bell. We ran, we meaning Mike Schalin and I, went around the outside of the school and came apon the smoke that was billowing out of a class room named AD1. We were suprised because it was our school that was burning. We watched as the classroom burned and the walls collasped a bit. The wonderful stained glass that had graced the west wall of AD1 is now gone along with most of the roof and some of the walls. The fire people were there quickly and started to work on the fire. It was an interesting experiance watching the firemen do their job. I took pictures but it was snowy so the dident turn out that well. None the less it was good to capture the experience of my school burning. Anyways my eyes are tired and I am finding it hard to function. I think that I will go and listen to Ani DeFranco. Peace.

Hello sweet friends. Jim Kedge made it here safely after flying in the air for a number of hours. I had dins (which is short for dinner) in the caf and it consisted of a sandwhich and some triskets. It was alright, but not super. And then Jim and I are going out to our mutual but not mutual fund, friend. I just edited the last sentence because it sucked. I usually dont edit, but for some reason tonight is a brain messing up night. Anyways I hear Jimi eat World blaring from my room and I think I want to go and listen to it. And Thank you Mom and Dad for all the wonderful food, and the large and warm afgan which is already keeping me warm. Good night sweet people. Night.

Happy Valentines Day. Its been a while huh? The last week has been busy with everything. I worked on assignments all last week and read stuff and stuff. Then on Sunday I played bass for the monthly time of worship that we have here called "Beggars Feast". That was an interesting experience since my amplifier broke half way through the set and it was hard to concentrate after that. Then I went and ate Mac and Cheese. I have one more class today and then a break of a week and a half. I am looking forward to this with great antipipation since Jim Kedge, the intern at Kamloops Alliance, is comming out here to snowy Regina in order to take a class during the next week. It will be great to see him for at least a little while. I am also looking forward to sleep seeing as that has been of short supply lately. This morning I had a midterm in Church History, which started at 8:30 in the morning. I awoke at the usual time of 7:30 so that I would have time to shower and such, but alas I turned off my alarm and thought I would be smart and use the snooze button, I have never in my life used the snooze button but this morning I thought I would try it. That was a bad decision on my part. I woke again at what appeared to be 8:13 but then I realized that my clock is 10 minuites fast. I ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth and do other things the needed doing. I then ran, well walked fast, to class and had a horrible test. I was still waking up and my mind was not totally there, much to my dismay. Anyways after that I went to chapel and then came back to the dorm to have a shower and now I am talking to my good friend Riley on MSN. So now this thing is up to date. Oh and I havent got my camera back yet. Hopefully soon. I Love you Family. Peace. And dont forget to tell the ones you love that you love them.

I went for a walk around 12:30 last night and had walked through the school and was proceeding outside to walk along the outer edge of the property along 4th ave when a policeman stopped me and asked me some questions thinking I was the peeping tom, or tim, that the girls of Main Ladies had called into the cops about. I showed him my ID card and he let me go. He also had a K9 unit with him which made it more scary. Thats my story and now I am going to bed. Peace.

Until tonight I had forgotten how fun the game of Dutch Blitz was. I went with some people to dairy queen and then to the student lounge where we proceeded to play dutch blitz for about an hour. It started as only four people and then at the end we were playing with 8 people and there were hands flying all around the table and people yelling and pretty much mayham. It was beautyious. Anyways that was my night. Oh and we had open dorms today which was alright but none the less dumb seeing as it really was only a show and tell about your room. I put pictures all over one side of the room and it looks really cool. I am fairly sick of this place right now and I think I may go for a walk and clear my head before starting to read again. Adios. Peace. Oh and the camera is not back yet and I think that I am going into withdrawl. I used one of the guys camera's on my floor and that quelled the feeling of need of taking pictures for a while but now I am starting to fell antcy again.
